Jeremy Caniglia Art Exhibition at Abend Gallery

I am very honored and humbled to have my artwork featured in the upcoming "Inner Visions” Exhibition at ABEND Gallery in Denver, CO. The exhibition will run from October 8th - November 11th, 2016. Opening Reception: is Saturday October 8th, 6-9 pm.  If you are in the Denver area come out and see master works by the very best in Imaginative realism as well as my fellow kitsch painters Odd Nerdrum, and LukeHillestad.

Inner Visions brings together over 70 artists covering the gamut of contemporary imaginative realism, showcasing the remarkable diversity of work being created under its banner. The show includes upcoming young artists side by side with award-winning, world renowned painters with multiple monographs dedicated to their work. Their work hangs everywhere from galleries and museums to major private and corporate collections.

Imaginative realism satisfies a dual urge in the viewer,  says co-curator Patrick Wilshire. It meets the viewer’s desire for aesthetic quality and appreciation of technical skill, but also provides the opportunity to experience narrative, character and concept within that technically-skilled framework.”

Caniglia at the Delaware Museum of Art

This weekend IX (IlluXcon) will have a preview reception at the Delaware Museum of Art. It starts tonight and will go through the weekend. The event will showcase the very best in imaginative realism and Fantastic art.

On Sunday, September 25 they will have a curator talk with Mary Holahan and the Museum will debut Bill Niemeyer’s film “Art of the Fantastic”. I was interviewed in the film a few times and it showcases some of my earlier art work from “At the Edge” which was exhibited at the Allentown Art Museum.  I was able to see an early version of the film and it is a great tribute to the field of Fantastic Art and Brooks Joyner who was the Allentown Museum director at the time the film was made.

If you have a chance to visit the Delaware Museum of Art this weekend the movie starts at 2:15pm.

Here is a preview of the film if you would like to check it out. You will see my paintings “Birth of Spring” and “Evening Star” …

Caniglia New Kitsch Painting

One of my new paintings for my upcoming solo show at the Union for Contemporary Arts.  This oil painting is called “The Martyr, The Monarch, and The Mercenary”. The painting is about the massacre of the innocents, the thousands who are killed in their countries by genocide, wars, and street violence. Everyday on the streets of the United States, Africa, South America, the Middle East and especially in Syria, innocent children are being killed. Innocent victims in the crossfire. The youth are the CHRYSALIS of tomorrow. They are the transition from apathy to empathy and they are the hope and BUTTERFLY of the future.

I will have more info about my upcoming show at ABEND Gallery in Denver later this week.
